The men’s tennis team capped off their season in a big way. Last season
they doubled their win total from the previous season, and the team did the exact same this season. The boys finish the regular
season 9-5 with an 8-4 record in conference. This puts them at 3rd in the overall league, but the 1A champions.
This accomplishment gives them a great seed moving into the post season. Leading the wildcats in wins on the
year so far is Jayden Bustos Benitez who went 10-2 in conference at #3 singles and Chase Petteys who went 9-3 in conference
at #4 singles.
However, the boys did not stop there. Last week Jayden Bustos Benitez and
Logan Garner won the 1A Central Carolina Conference tournament in dominant fashion only dropping 5 games the entire tournament.
Chase Petteys added to the wins by battling back to upset the #1 seed in the tournament in the finals. All 3 players qualify
for the individual regional tournament this Friday in Elkin.
