Church News Cid Community Church Cid Community Church will celebrate Homecoming this Sunday, May 5, with lunch following in the Fellowship Hall.
Rev. Sandy Young will be the 11:00 speaker. Revival will begin Sunday night at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Scott Davis. On Monday
and Tuesday, services will begin at 7:00 p.m. each evening. Monday night’s speaker will be Rev. Thomas Frizzell; Tuesday’s
speaker will be the Global Methodist Lead Presiding Elder, Rev. Randy Foster. There will be special singing at each service.

Lunch and Learn On Tuesday, May 14th at 12:00 noon, the Outreach Ministry at Central UMC will host
its community outreach program known as Lunch and Learn in the church fellowship hut. Our speaker is Scott J. Yates,
Funeral Director, who will address the topic of “Funeral Preplanning” How to do it and why it matters. This
is a FREE Event and members of the community are invited to attend and bring a friend! You do not have to prior register.
Come out and learn how to preplan your funeral so you can have the peace of mind knowing that your funeral will be handled

Lineberry Church Lineberry Church located at 2559 Handy Road is pleased
to announce the beginning of a new ministry opportunity for the youth of our community. This ministry is specifically designed
for elementary and middle school age children (ages 5-12). We will offer a special service during our 11:00am Sunday worship
service. The new ministry is a kid friendly, fun and exciting time, with games, crafts and learning God’s word! This
service is offered to all. As always, we will have our nursery available for younger children. Hope to see everyone here!

Elder Chester Fraley Elder
Chester Lee Fraley, 69, of Davidson County, NC, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at High Point Regional Hospital. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 4, at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow
at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:00 am until 10:00 am prior to the service. Mr. Fraley was born on May 27, 1954, in Pike County, Kentucky to Elder S.B. Fraley and Anna Mae Fraley. He was a veteran
of the United States Army. Chester was an Elder at Mt. Ararat Old Regular Baptist Church. During his work career, Chester
was a furniture factory worker and a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Christy Fraley
and Fawn Fraley Brown; brother, John Fraley; and a sister, Zetta Fraley. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Ann Fraley;
daughter, Dawn Fraley Thompson; son, Shawn Fraley; brother, Billy Fraley; and 6 grandchildren. Online condolences can

James Varner Mr. James Reece Varner, 76,
formerly of Farmer Rd., Denton, NC passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Lexington Health Care. A graveside inurnment
service was held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 26, at Mountain View Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Vern Peterson. James
was born in Davidson County to Reece Varner and Nina Bell Latham Varner. He had worked in the textile industry as a machine
overhauler at Tuscarora Yarns until his retirement and had served in the National Guard. Watching NASCAR and racing were some
of the things that James enjoyed. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Lori Paulette Brown
Varner on February 17, 2014. Left to cherish his memory is daughter, Kristy Varner of Denton and his brother, Madison
