Publish Your Legal Notice in the Denton Orator

 A notice to creditors is a formal, public announcement made by an executor or personal representative during probate, notifying potential creditors of a deceased person's passing and providing a deadline to file claims for unpaid debts. In North Carolina, personal representatives must publish a "Notice to Creditors" in a local, qualified newspaper once a week for four consecutive weeks. This notice initiates a 90-day period for creditors to submit claims against the estate. 

To publish your Notice to Creditor in the Denton Orator:

• E-mail us a clear copy of your Letters of Administration or Testamentary received from the court
• We will format and place the notice in the paper for 4 consecutive weeks
• Send in your payment by check or credit card within the 4 weeks
• Once the 4 weeks have been completed and payment has been received, we will mail you a notarized Affidavit of Publication, which will include proof of publication, along with a payment receipt. These items are required to be turned into the court in order to close the estate/probate.
