TOWN OF DENTON

ZONING TEXT AMENDMENTS - DENTON ZONING ORDINANCE REVISION PROJECT

 

THE PUBLIC IS HEREBY NOTIFIED:

That the Planning Board and Board of Commissioners of the Town of Denton have called a joint public hearing and work session to be held at Larry Furr’s Southern Theatre and Event Center, 18639 NC-109,  Denton, North Carolina at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday October 20, 2020. The purpose of the work session is to review proposed changes to the Denton Zoning Ordinance after a fourteen-month review and revision process that involved the entire ordinance and to secure formal Planning Board approval of the changes. The Board of Commissioners will then hold a public hearing on the revised Denton Zoning Ordinance on Monday November 2, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at Denton Town Hall, 201 West Salisbury Street, Denton NC to solicit additional public comment before enacting the new ordinance.  A complete copy of the proposed Denton Zoning Ordinance is on file at Town Hall 201 W. Salisbury Street, Denton and available for inspection and copying during regular business days and hours.

All persons interested in speaking for or against the new Denton Zoning Ordinance will be given an opportunity to speak at both scheduled public hearings on October 20, 2020 and November 2, 2020. Face masks are required and temperature checks will be conducted prior to entering the meeting space.

As a result of the public hearings, substantial changes may be made in the advertised proposal reflecting objections, debate and discussion at the hearings.
