Scholarships
Davidson County Board of Commissioners Chair Todd Yates has announced that applications for Davidson
County Teaching Scholarships will be accepted from January 1st through March 15th, 2025, and from September 1st through November
15th, 2025. Applications for these scholarships are available to college students who have lived in Davidson County
for six years prior to entering college and have graduated from a high school, private school, or home school. Applicants
must be accepted into or enrolled in and attending a post-secondary institution at the time the scholarship is awarded and
have at least a 2.8 GPA and will be required to obtain a North Carolina teaching certification by the beginning of the school
year following the senior year of college. Scholarships are for $5,000 each and require a three-year contract either
with one of the three school systems located in Davidson County or an approved private school located in Davidson County.
Applications and guidelines for the scholarships have been made available at the local high schools and colleges in the Davidson
County area, and the Davidson County Manager’s Office, and on the Internet at www.co.davidson.nc.us.
