Natalie Caviness is 2009 Southeast Threshers’ Queen

Natalie Caviness, a rising senior at Randolph Early College High School, was crowned the 2009 Southeast Threshers’ Queen on Saturday evening at the Denton FarmPark. She was also the winner of the Interview award.

Natalie is the daughter of Gary and Phyllis Caviness of Asheboro. She will graduate in 2010 with her high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree, planning afterward to attend UNC and earn an undergraduate degree in Political Science/History. Natalie will receive a $2000.00 scholarship sponsored by Back Country Waterstoves.

First runner up was Deven Underwood of Randleman. The daughter of Dallas and Donna Underwood, Deven attends UNC-G, majoring in Communications. She plays club soccer and is a member of the Randleman Lions Club. Her future ambition is to obtain her degree and become a news anchor. She was the winner of a $450.00 scholarship.

Second runner up was Ashleigh Haneline. She is the daughter of Ronnie and Tonya Haneline of Denton and attends UNC-G where she is majoring in Elementary Education. Ashleigh just completed her internship at Moorehead Elementary School and plans to obtain her masters degree to work with special needs children. She was the recipient of a $350.00 scholarship and also won the Casual wear award.

Merrill Ward of Asheboro won the Best Country Costume award and Carrie Snider of Denton won the Photogenic award.

Century Hosiery, Montgomery Insurance, QRT, Y & Y Hardwoods of Lexington and Design Team provided the money for the scholarships for the runners up and special awards. We want to thank them for their support to make the scholarships possible.

The top five finalists were Natalie Caviness, Ashleigh Haneline, Morgan Pendry of Randleman, Deven Underwood and Merrill Ward.
